สองสตรีไทยได้รับเครื่องราชอิสริยาภรณ์ Infante Dom Henrique จากโปรตุเกส
เมื่อวันที่ 2 มีนาคม 2569 สถานเอกอัครราชทูตโปรตุเกสจัดพิธี มอบเครื่องราชอิสริยาภรณ์ Infante Dom Henrique ณ บ้านพักเอกอัครราชทูตโปรตุเกสประจำประเทศไทย ฯพณฯ นายลูวิช มานูแวล ดือ มากาไญช์ ดือ อัลบูแกร์ก วือโลซู ซึ่งในปีนี้คนไทยสองท่านที่ได้รับเกียรติประดับเครื่องราชอิสริยาภรณ์จากสาธารณรัฐโปรตุเกสคือ อาจารย์ ดร. ประโลม บุญรัศมี และ คุณนาวินี พงศ์ไทย
เครื่องราชอิสริยาภรณ์ Infante Dom Henrique มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อยกย่องเชิดชูบุคคลผู้ได้กระทำคุณประโยชน์อันสำคัญยิ่งต่อสาธารณรัฐโปรตุเกส ทั้งภายในประเทศและในต่างประเทศ ตลอดจนผู้ที่มีส่วนส่งเสริมการเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมโปรตุเกส หรือสนับสนุนการสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับประเทศโปรตุเกส ประวัติศาสตร์ และคุณค่าของชาติ
อาจารย์ ดร. ประโลม บุญรัศมี ปัจจุบันเป็นหัวหน้าสาขาวิชาโปรตุเกส ภาควิชาภาษาตะวันตก คณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการการทูตและวัฒนธรรมโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการส่งเสริมภาษาและวัฒนธรรมโปรตุเกสในประเทศไทย เคยทำงาน ณ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตโปรตุเกสประจำประเทศไทย ระหว่างปี 1999–2011 ในตำแหน่งเลขานุการเอกอัครราชทูต เป็นล่าม–นักแปลภาษาโปรตุเกสประจำฝ่ายกงสุล
อีกทั้งเป็นกรรมการจัดงานเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 500 ปี ความสัมพันธ์ไทย–โปรตุเกส มีส่วนร่วมในการจัดทำพจนานุกรมโปรตุเกส–ไทย/ไทย–โปรตุเกส และมีผลงานแปลวรรณกรรมโปรตุเกสจำนวนมาก รวมถึงริเริ่มโครงการด้านวัฒนธรรม อาหาร ไวน์ และประวัติศาสตร์โปรตุเกสในประเทศไทย รับผิดชอบการสอน การจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรม นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านหลักเกณฑ์การถอดเสียงภาษาโปรตุเกสเป็นภาษาไทยของราชบัณฑิตยสภา
คุณนาวินี พงศ์ไทย ผู้มีเชื้อสายโปรตุเกสในตระกูลดา ครูซ ได้อุทิศตนเพื่ออนุรักษ์ประวัติศาสตร์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างโปรตุเกสกับไทย ครอบครัวของคุณนาวินีได้ร่วมกันก่อตั้งพิพิธภัณฑ์บ้านกุฎีจีนขึ้นในย่านกุฎีจีน หนึ่งในสามชุมชนลูกหลานชาวโปรตุเกสดั้งเดิมที่ตั้งอยู่ริมฝั่งแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่นและสืบสานสายสัมพันธ์อันยาวนานระหว่างสองประเทศ พิพิธภัณฑ์กุฎีจีนอยู่ภายใต้การบริหารของคุณนาวินี และได้กลายเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ที่สำคัญสำหรับนักศึกษา ตลอดจนเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางยอดนิยมของผู้มาเยือนทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ
งานพิธีรับเครื่องราชอิสริยาภรณ์ ได้จัดอย่างสง่างามโดยมีท่านเอกอัครราชทูต รองหัวหน้าคณะทูต และที่ปรึกษาฝ่ายวัฒนธรรม ร่วมให้การต้อนรับแขกผู้มีเกียรติที่มาร่วมงานอย่างอบอุ่น
Two Thai Women Honored with Prestigious Portuguese Decorations
Bangkok , March 2 , 2026 The Embassy of Portugal in Bangkok held a distinguished ceremony to confer the Order of Prince Henry (Ordem do Infante Dom Henrique), one of Portugal’s highest civilian honors. The event was hosted by His Excellency Mr. Luiz de Albuquerque Veloso, Ambassador of Portugal to Thailand, at the Ambassador’s official residence.
This year, the Republic of Portugal bestowed this high honor upon two exceptional Thai nationals: Dr. Pralom Boonrussamee and Mrs. Navinee Pongthai, in recognition of their lifelong dedication to strengthening the bonds between the two nations.
The Order of Prince Henry is a testament to extraordinary service rendered to the Portuguese Republic. It celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the expansion of Portuguese culture, as well as those who have fostered a deeper understanding of the nation’s history, heritage, and enduring values.
Dr. Pralom Boonrussamee, the current Head of the Portuguese Section at the Department of Western Languages, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, has been a pivotal figure in cultural diplomacy. Her dedication to promoting the Portuguese language in Thailand is exemplary.
Having served at the Embassy of Portugal from 1999 to 2011 as Secretary to the Ambassador and as a translator for the Consular Section, her influence remains far-reaching. Dr. Pralom was a member of the organizing committee for the 500th Anniversary of Thai-Portuguese Relations and contributed significantly to the development of the Portuguese-Thai dictionary. Her initiatives span the realms of gastronomy, wine, and history, alongside her academic expertise in the Royal Society’s guidelines for Portuguese-to-Thai transcription.
Mrs. Navinee Pongthai, a descendant of the historic Da Cruz lineage, has devoted her life to preserving the rich tapestry of the Thai-Portuguese Catholic heritage. Her family founded the Baan Kudichin Museum in the heart of the Kudichin community which is one of the three ancestral Portuguese-descendant settlements nestled along the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
Under Navinee’s stewardship, the museum has become a vital sanctuary for local history, fostering a profound connection between the two countries. It serves as an essential educational hub for students and has grown into a cherished destination for both domestic and international visitors seeking to understand the deep roots of Portuguese influence in Thailand.
The conferment ceremony was conducted with great elegance and warmth. The Ambassador, joined by the Deputy Head of Mission and the Cultural Attaché, extended a gracious welcome to the distinguished guests, marking another milestone in the centuries-old friendship between Portugal and Thailand.
